Tasting Notes:
From the wines chosen to produce Tinto da Anfora, in special years the very best is selected to be bottled separately under the designation "Grande Escolha" (First Choice). "Grande Escolha" was produced from the Alentejo grapes varieties Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine aged for 18 months in selected new French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels. Dark ruby colour, intense aromas of ripe fruit (cherry and plums) combined with vanilla in a complex, elegant, balanced and firm structure. Tinto da Anfora Grande Escolha has been produced in 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008 - only in special years.
