This attractive copper–hued beer with it’s full creamy white head, was the first beer brewed by the Trappist fathers of the Notre-Dame de Scourmont Abbey at Chimay back in 1862.At 7% abv, it is eminently drinkable, with a silky mouth feel, sweet fruit aroma and a pleasant bitter hop finish – a great beer all round – somehow, just one never seems enough!

Matches up perfectly with slow roasted pork and casseroled chicken, and is also the ideal parry to strong hard cheeses.
